Short Stay Visit Visas Options
Short stay visit visa routes are designed for those who do not intend to live in the UK or seek long-term settlement.

Tourist Visitor Visa
This route covers the most common types of short visits. It is suitable for tourists, family and friend visits, short courses (under 30 days), business meetings, and medical treatment. Visa holders must leave the UK at the end of their stay and cannot work or live in the UK through frequent visits.

UK Family Visit Visa
This visa applies to individuals travelling to spend time with family members on a temporary basis. While it is part of the Standard Visitor category, applications must provide clear evidence of family ties and intent to return. Suitable for short visits only, not for ongoing care or residence.

UK Marriage Visitor Visa
This visa is for those who wish to get married or enter a civil partnership in the UK but intend to live elsewhere. It allows legal notice and ceremony participation but does not permit settlement or switching to a spouse visa from within the UK.

Chinese Tour Group Visa
This specialist route enables Chinese citizens to visit the UK as part of a licensed, guided tour. Applicants must travel with a group of at least five members under an accredited Chinese tour operator. The stay is capped at 30 days with no extension or route to settlement.
Short Stay Visit Visas
Visit visas allow non-UK nationals to enter the UK for short stays, typically up to six months, for purposes such as tourism, family visits, or short-term study. These visas do not permit work or long-term residence. Learn more about the different visit visa types, each with its own eligibility requirements depending on the purpose of your trip, financial support, and ties to your home country.
